History
The archive in Inowrocław came into existence in 1953 as a County State Archive. In 1958 it was renamed the branch of the Voivodship State Archive in Bydgoszcz. In 1983, according to the Act on National Archival Records and Archives it was once again renamed the branch of Bydgoszcz State Archive.

Nowadays. The branch of Bydgoszcz State Archive in Inowrocław works on the ground of the Act on National Archival Records and Archives of July 14, 1983, Journal of Law, (Dziennik Ustaw) No 38, 1983.07.19 with later changes.
Building(s)
In 1954-1972 the archive was located in the building of the County Council. In 1972 it was relocated to the building in Narutowicza street.

The archive in Inowrocław possesses 621 collections and archival founds, which makes 115 634 units and 1103 running meters. There are archival materials from 18th century to the present time. The significant part of holdings is concerning 19th century state and local administration and registry books. The documents derived from World War II are the small part of holdings. The specific kind of documents concerns the food industry and salt output.

The archive's holdings are available in the workroom open Monday-Friday 8.00 - 15.00.

The access is regulated by Instruction No. 4 of the Head Office of State Archives in Poland, dated February 1, 2013.
