In the same location, according to archaeological fragments, there had been an Arabic Maison which was destroyed some centuries ago. It was later the residence of the last Ottoman Governor of Chalkida, Omer Pasha. In 1833 it was bought by Nikolaos Kriezotis. In 1982 it was bought by the Municipality of Chalkida. In 1989 it was given to the Archives.]]></p>
