Archival and Other Holdings

The Centre of Diplomatic Archives in Nantes (CADN) holds the repatriated records from France's external services: diplomatic and consular representations, French representations in international organizations, cultural network abroad, aid missions and cooperation. The CADN also holds the archives of the French administration in Syria and Lebanon during the Mandate period, and Tunisia and Morocco under the Protectorate. The holdings also include several series of records of the central administration; these were filed in Nantes due to lack of space in the Paris deposits. These funds, which account for nearly 30 linear kilometers, are steadily increasing at the pace of the repatriation from the posts.
