Landesarchiv Nordrhein-Westfalen

Landesarchiv Nordrhein-Westfalen presides over the regional archives of Rheinland, Westfalen and Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Tasks of the State Archive include administrative organization, legal and personal matters as well as education and training.

The holdings of the State Archive include materials focusing on the history of North Rhine-Westphalia. The collections include certificates, files, registers and maps from the Middle Ages in addition to photos, films and sound recordings from more contemporary history.
