Magnus-Hirschfeld-Gesellschaft

The Magnus Hirschfeld Society was founded in (West) Berlin in 1982 to explore and preserve the scientific and cultural heritage of Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) and his Institute for Sexual Science (1919-1933). The Magnus Hirschfeld Gesellschaft maintains an historical reference library on sexual science and gender studies (periodicals, pamphlets and books) with a focus on the publications of Magnus Hirschfeld and other members of his Institute. The Society’s archive collection of photographs, personal papers and manuscripts documents segments of the history of sexual science.
