Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv - Magistratsabteilung 8

The Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv collect, store, and preserve documents and records regarding the history of Vienna. Municipal and Provincial Archives additionally act as the city's history and local government documentation and research center.

Collections of the Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchive include but are not limited to: city office records, records of executive offices and authorities, former townships [Stadtarchiv]; state administrative records, state court records, police records, political party records, and records of private institutions [Landesarchiv]. Among others contains restitution- and/or compensation-related materials: 1. Magistratsabteilung 119 / Vermögensentzug-Anmeldungsverordnung; 2. Opferfürsorgeakten; closed files; restriction: extended period for protection of personal data
